Old English Unicode

This page mirrors the legacy old-english-font-generator hub: Mathematical Fraktur normal and bold, alternating letters, and mathematical script as a cursive-style bonus—with the same Vietnamese composite coverage as the standalone page.

Four styles on this page

Use the style buttons for 𝔒𝔩𝔡 𝔈𝔫𝔤𝔩𝔦𝔰𝔥, 𝖇𝖔𝖑𝖉 Fraktur, alternating normal/bold, and 𝓬𝓾𝓻𝓼𝓲𝓿𝓮 script.

Fraktur normal

Regular Fraktur (𝔞𝔟𝔠-style) for classic blackletter emphasis where fonts support the Unicode block.

Fraktur bold

Bold Fraktur (𝖆𝖇𝖈) adds weight for headings and decorative social posts.

Alternating

Alternating swaps normal and bold Fraktur per character—the same effect as the legacy tool’s third output.

Bonus cursive

Mathematical script (𝓪𝓫𝓬) is included as on the original “Bonus: Cursive” line—not historical blackletter, but useful for contrast.

What Is Old English / Blackletter Text?

Old English, also known as blackletter, has a rich history spanning over a millennium. It was widely used as a script throughout Western Europe during that time. This tool uses Unicode Mathematical Fraktur symbols (𝔞 𝔟 𝔠 / 𝖆 𝖇 𝖈)—not a font file—so results depend on the app’s Unicode fonts.

There are several variations of blackletter, each with its own characteristics:

Pick normal, bold, alternating, or cursive (script Unicode), then Copy or Download as .txt. Conversion runs entirely in your browser; we do not upload or store your text.
